Volunteers Still Needed for Day of Service

GENEVA, N.Y.- Volunteers are still needed for the ninth annual “Celebrate Service… Celebrate Geneva” Day of Service, held on Saturday, October 27. Hobart and William Smith Colleges ask community members to join HWS volunteers at 9 a.m. on the Hobart Quad for a day of public service and community building. Registration forms are available at the Smith Opera House, Cam's NY Pizzeria, the Geneva Free Library, Wal-Mart, TOPS Supermarket, Madia's grocery store. Forms on the Hobart and William Smith Colleges' campus are available at the Warren Hunting Smith Library, public service office, and café.

Transportation to sites outside of walking distance will be provided. The first 300 community members to arrive and sign in will receive complimentary tickets to the Hobart Statesmen football game against St. John Fisher on November 3.

Following the morning of service, there will be a celebration held in the Colleges' Barn, where volunteers will be entertained by the Seneca Soundwaves women's choir, and refreshments will be served. There will be a storyteller on hand to entertain children, as well. Door prizes, such as brunch at Belhurst Castle, will be distributed.
