Colleges Prepare for Ninth Annual Day of Service

Geneva, NY — The ninth annual “Celebrate Service, Celebrate Geneva” Day of Service will be held on Saturday, October 27, in Geneva and the surrounding communities. This event brings community members together with students, faculty, and staff from the Hobart and William Smith Colleges for a morning of service to benefit Geneva and other Finger Lakes communities.

Volunteers will convene on the Colleges Quad at 9 a.m., where they will sign in and proceed to assigned work sites. Transportation to sites outside of walking distance will be provided. The first 300 community members to arrive and sign in will receive complimentary tickets to the Hobart Statesmen football game against St. John Fisher on November 3.

Following the morning of service, there will be a celebration held in the Colleges' Barn, where volunteers will be entertained by the Seneca Soundwaves women's choir, and refreshments will be served. There will be a storyteller on hand to entertain children, too. Door prizes, such as brunch at Belhurst Castle, will be distributed.

Registration forms are available at TOPS Supermarket, the Geneva Free Library, the Smith Opera House, Cam's NY Pizzeria, Wal-Mart, and the Hobart and William Smith Library. Registration forms can be returned to drop boxes at the same locations.
