HOBART AND WILLIAM SMITH MOURNS TRAGIC LOSSES

September 20, 2001 Geneva, NY—The Hobart and William Smith Colleges community offers with terrible heartache information on the tragic loss of two of its members who died as a result of last week’s attack on the World Trade Center.

With deepest sympathy to their families and friends the Colleges mourns the loss of Scott W. Rohner, a 2001 graduate of Hobart College, and Michael J. Simon, a 1983 graduate of Hobart College. Both worked for Cantor Fitzgerald on the 105th floor of Tower One.

Services for Scott Rohner will be held from 7 to 9 p.m., today, September 20, at the Beaugard Funeral Home in River Edge, N.J. The funeral and burial service will be held tomorrow, September 21.

Scott Rohner is the son of Ronald and Katherine Rohner. He is survived by his parents, three brothers, and two sisters. While at Hobart and William Smith, Scott Rohner majored in economics and played for basketball and football for the Statesmen.

A memorial service for Michael Simon will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, September 22, at St. Mary’s Church in Closter, N.J.

Michael Simon leaves a wife, Eileen Simon, and three children. His parents are Mr. and Mrs. Charles Simon of Greenwich, Conn.

While at Hobart and William Smith, Michael Simon majored in economics and was a member of Theta Delta Chi.

Condolences may be sent to both families in care of Alumni House, 615 S. Main St. Geneva, NY 14456. Gifts are also being received by Alumni House to honor Scott and Michael’s lives.
