GENEVA, N.Y.— Karen Amico of Rochester has been named Major Gifts Officer at Hobart and William Smith Colleges. She brings with her more than 15 years of experience in development, and began working at the Colleges on September 4.
Amico comes from the Eastman School of Music at the University of Rochester, where she served as director of development and alumni relations. Prior to that position she worked at the William E. Simon Graduate School of Business Administration at the University of Rochester as associate director of alumni relations and development and assistant director of corporate and foundation support, and before that as Appalachian State University's development officer.
Amico earned her bachelor of arts degree from The College of Wooster in Wooster, Ohio, and her master of business administration degree from the State University of New York at Binghamton, School of Management, in Binghamton, N.Y. She also holds a diploma in piano from the Eastman School of Music Preparatory Department. She serves on the board of The Commission Project of Rochester and as a private piano instructor for beginning/elementary students.
