New Director of Giving and Parent Relations Named

GENEVA, N.Y.—Jared C. Weeden, a 1991 Hobart graduate, has been named the Director of Annual Giving and Parent Relations at Hobart and William Smith Colleges. He began working at the Colleges on July 16. Weeden comes from Lawrenceville, N.J., where he served as the associate director of The Lawrenceville Fund at The Lawrenceville School since 1998. Prior to that position he worked as a sales and marketing manager at Schieren Associates in Pottersville, N.J., and before that as a media coordinator for the American Stock Exchange in New York.

Michael J. Catillaz, vice president of institutional advancement at Hobart and William Smith Colleges, welcomed Weeden to his staff and praised his “sound annual fund experience” at The Lawrenceville School. “Weeden's unique understanding of Hobart and William Smith Colleges makes him well qualified to lead the annual giving program,” Catillaz said. “I am very pleased to have him join our team.”

In addition to his work experience, Weeden has served as a volunteer in his community. He coached the Princeton Tiger Lilies, an elite girls' youth hockey program in New Jersey. Prior to his work with the Tiger Lilies he coached peewee hockey in Far Hills and spent a year as an assistant with The Lawrenceville School girls' varsity team.

While attending Hobart and William Smith Colleges, Weeden majored in
political science. He also played hockey (D. Michael Hazelton '85 Memorial Award) and baseball, served on student council, was president of the Student Literacy Corps, was a member of Sigma Chi, and earned the status of a Benjamin Hale Scholar.
