GENEVA, N.Y.—A Sand Mandala dismantling ceremony will be held from 10:30 until 11:30 a.m. on Sunday, May 6, in the atrium of the Warren Hunting Smith Library on the Hobart and William Smith Colleges campus. Everyone is welcome to attend this ceremony.
The Sand Mandala was constructed by the students of the Tibetan Mandala Class, taught by the Ven. Tenzin Yignyen, and will be on display through May 5 in the library atrium. Students' individual painted Mandalas will also be displayed in the atrium from May 4 through May 6.
Yignyen, a Tibetan monk from the Dalai Lama's personal monastery,
earned Master of Sutra and Tantra. He has taught Tibetan art, Buddhism, and Asian studies at Hobart and William Smith Colleges since September 1998.
