Geneva, NY—Erica Cooney-Connor, summer programs director at Hobart and William Smith Colleges, was recently named to the Tourism and Visitor Development Council of the Geneva Area Chamber of Commerce.
The Tourism and Visitor Development Council is responsible for tourism marketing and improving visitor services for Geneva, with a focus on improving projects and developing new initiatives to make the Finger Lakes a primary destination. The Council's goals include conducting training workshops, publishing a visitor's guide, highlighting Geneva attractions with a traveling display, and distributing a calendar of events.
“I am excited to have the appointment,” said Cooney-Connor. “This is an excellent opportunity for the Colleges and the community to work together for the betterment of both.”
Cooney-Connor, a native of Geneva, has worked full-time for the Colleges since graduating from Niagara University in 1992. She resides in Geneva with her husband Pat and their two children, Patrick and Sarah.
