Geneva, NY—The paintings, drawings, prints, and digital images of Nicholas Ruth, assistant professor of art at Hobart and William Smith Colleges, will be featured in a two-person show, titled “Nicholas H. Ruth and Bobbi Goldman: Recent Work,” at the Fine Arts Gallery at the State University College at Oneonta, through March 9.
Last year, Art in America contributing editor Eleanor Heartney selected two of Ruth's prints for inclusion in “National Small Works Exhibition 2000.” One of Ruth's digital images was also chosen for “SCAN 20/2000, Small Computers in the Arts National Juried Exhibition” at the Silicon Gallery in Philadelphia, Pa.
Ruth's paintings, drawings, and intaglio prints have also been shown at the Handwerker Gallery of the Caroline Werner Gannett Center at Ithaca College, the Canalside Gallery in Seneca Falls, N.Y., and he was given a show at Lamoreaux Landing Wine Cellars in Lodi, N.Y. Ruth lives in Lodi, and maintains a studio in Interlaken in addition to teaching at the Colleges. He exhibits both locally and nationally.
