Hegyi to Perform Final Concert in Highly Haydn Series

January 19, 1998

Geneva, NY — In October 1994, pianist Charlotte Hegyi set a goal: to perform publicly all 50-plus piano sonatas composed by Franz Joseph Haydn. At 5 p.m., Sat., Jan. 24, she will achieve that goal by performing the last four of the sonatas in St. John's Chapel on the Hobart and William Smith Colleges' campus. Admission is free and the public is invited to attend. A reception in DeLancey House, also on campus, will follow the concert.

Hegyi, currently the archivist at the Colleges' Warren Hunting Smith Library, has been performing on the piano since the age of five. This concert will be the ninth in the Highly Haydn series.

The concert is sponsored by the Library Associates of the Warren Hunting Smith Library.
