Geneva, NY — Pepatian, a South Bronx-based arts organization dedicated to creating, presenting, and supporting multi-disciplinary Latino dance and performance, will present two concerts at the completion of a three-week residency at Hobart and William Smith Colleges. The concerts, at 8 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, April 9 and 10, in the Winn-Seeley Dance Theater on the HWS campus, are open to the public; general admission is $5, $4 for HWS faculty and staff, and $2 for students and senior citizens.
Merián Soto, choreographer and director, and Sonny Allen, associate choreographer and mambo master, team with Irene Sosa (film) and Cuban Composer Adalberto Alvarez (music) to create a dynamic and diverse residency experience. Dancers Allen, Gina Benitez, Sita Fredricks, Antonio Ramos, Ivan Rivera, and Noemí Segarra will develop a new work about Salsa while on campus, and will premier that work at the Friday evening concert. They will also offer master dance classes and teach Salsa to members of the Colleges community as well as to middle school and high school students.

Mark your calendars for upcoming performances by the HWS Department of Dance. The senior Choreographers Concert will be at 8 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, April 30 and May 1, and the Faculty Dance Concert will be at 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday, May 28 and 29, and at 3 p.m. on Sunday, May 30.
