Geneva, NY — Juilliard graduate John Spradling and his wife, mezzo-soprano Carol Ansell Spradling, will perform a joint recital of piano and vocal music at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 31, in St. John's Chapel on the campus of Hobart and William Smith Colleges. The performance, which is free and open to the public, will include selections by Schubert, Brahms, and Bizet.
Spradling is on the music faculties of both Syracuse University and Hobart and William Smith Colleges. He maintains private piano studios in Manlius and in Syracuse, performs as a recitalist, accompanist, and chamber musician, and is Director of Music at First Baptist Church, Manlius. His teachers have included Abbey Simon, Barry Snyder, Jorge Bolet, and Sascha Gorodnitski.
Ansell Spradling is an active vocal performer in Central New York, and is full-time Director of Music at St. Augustine's Church, Baldwinsville. Ansell Spradling has appeared as a soloist in many local and regional concert and opera productions.
