Geneva, NY — Michael Black, station manager for WEOS-FM, the Hobart and William Smith Colleges-owned radio station, has announced that the station has been awarded a Nelson A. Rockefeller Intern Scholarship, sponsored by the NYS Office of Children and Family Protective Services and the NYS Broadcasters Association.
WEOS is currently seeking applicants for the internship, which is open to any high school or undergraduate college student, residents of NYS or attending school in NYS, at least 17 years of age but less than 21.The internship will pay for 180 hours of work between now and the end of 1999. Applicants should send a letter of interest by May 9, 1999.
WEOS-FM offers popular National Public Radio (NPR) and Public Radio International (PRI) programming during the day and student-run programming in the evening. It broadcasts on two frequencies: 89.7, which is best received outside the immediate Geneva area, and 90.3, best received in Geneva.
