Hood’s Book Quoted

Clifton Hood, associate professor of history, was quoted in the January 8 issue of Investor's Business Daily, in the article “William Parsons Dug Deep to Hit Heights.” The article profiles William Barclay Parsons, best known as the chief engineer of New York City's first subway, and quoted Hood's book 722 Miles: The Building of the Subways and How They Transformed New York, in which Hood saw Parsons in terms of American imperialism. Hood was recently named to the Board of Directors of the prestigious New York Council for the Humanities (NYCH).
