Hillary Rodham Clinton Visits HWS Campus as Part of President's Forum Series
January 10, 2000 GENEVA, NY – To clarify, Hobart and William Smith Colleges confirm that the public is invited to attend the event in which First Lady Hillary Rodham Clinton will engage with HWS students and the larger community about public service.
The discussion will begin at approximately 3:15 p.m. tomorrow, Tuesday, January 11, at the Robert A. Bristol Sport and Recreation Center on the HWS campus (Hamilton Street, Routes 5 & 20). The doors to the field house will open at 2:30 p.m. Parking at the event site is extremely limited so there will be no public parking available there. However, arrangements have been made for shuttle bus service from five locations on campus (Medbery parking lot, corner Pulteney and St. Clair Streets, Geneva Hall and Sill House on South Main Street, and Odell's Village) and between Geneva City Hall on Castle Street and the field house as well. Shuttle service will begin at approximately 2:15 p.m. There will also be parking available behind the Town & Country Plaza on Hamilton Street. (Directions to Campus.)
Hillary Rodham Clinton is the first guest in President Mark D. Gearan's “President's Forum.” Mrs. Clinton will participate in a discussion with students and others about public service. She will discuss community service and the role it plays in a liberal arts education with HWS students who are involved and committed to service through campus initiatives. She hopes to learn more about their service projects and what they mean to them and to exchange ideas with them about community service.
