HWS Welcomes Syracuse Symphony Orchestra

February 8, 2000 Geneva, NY – Hobart and William Smith Colleges are a proud sponsor of the Geneva Concerts series, which will bring the Syracuse Symphony Orchestra to the Smith Opera House at 8:15 p.m. on Thursday, February 24.

Guest pianist Stephen Heyman will join conductor Peter Bay and the Syracuse Symphony Orchestra to present “A Night in Hollywood.” The program will include “Prince Valiant Suite” by Waxman; “Spellbound Concertos” by Rozsa; “The Red Pony” by Copland; “Adventures of Robin Hood” by Korngold; and “On the Waterfront Suite” by Bernstein.

This performance is made possible by a continuing subscription from Hobart and William Smith Colleges and with public funds from the New York State Council on the Arts, a state agency. Tickets are $20 for adults and $10 for students with ID. Hobart and William Smith students are admitted free with ID. The Smith Opera House is located at 82 Seneca St., Geneva.
