Successes in the Turbulent 1970s at Hobart and William Smith

Former HWS President Allan Kuusisto Returns to Campus

April 3, 2000 Geneva, NY – On Thursday, April 6, Hobart and William Smith Colleges welcomes the community to take a trip back in time to the 1970s. President Emeritus Allan Kuusisto, who served the Colleges from 1970 until 1982, will be joined by Hobart alumni Roger Frankel '72, Assistant Professor Mark Jones '72, and Head Lacrosse Coach B.J. O'Hara '75, to speak about events during his years as president of the Colleges. The event, which is free and open to the public, will take place at 7 p.m. in the Sanford Room of the Warren Hunting Smith Library and is part of the on-going Hobart Heritage Series that culminates annually on Charter Day. It is sponsored by the Hobart Dean's Office and the Hobart Druid Society.

Frankel, of Pittsford, a 1972 graduate of Hobart College, is the director of patient support services at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester. Jones, of Lodi, a 1972 graduate of Hobart College, is an assistant professor of art. O'Hara, of Geneva, a 1975 graduate of Hobart College, is the head lacrosse coach.
