April 6, 2000 Geneva, NY – Join your friends and neighbors at the 7th annual Celebrate Service, Celebrate Geneva, the annual day of service combines Hobart and William Smith Colleges students, faculty, and staff with members of the community to volunteer for the morning to assist agencies and organizations in Geneva that need help, to be held this year on April 29.
The day of service includes painting, raking, and other types of clean up; meeting new and interesting people; and a celebration in the afternoon at the Colleges.
Registrations are now being taken from those who want to participate in this worthwhile venture. Volunteers may register with forms available in various location around town or through the HWS Office of Public Service, or, for the first time this year, may register online at www.hws.edu/act/dayoserv/regform.html.
Pre-registered participants will receive a free T-shirt. Both individual and team registrations are encouraged.
Community members may drop their registration forms into one of the several drop boxes located around Geneva. Drop boxes are now located at Tops, the YMCA, and the Geneva Free Library. Contrary to previously printed material, there will be no drop box at Wegmans due to company policy.
The first Day of Service was held in 1994, and each year the event draws approximately 1,000 volunteers who assist nearly 50 area organizations.
