Kris Thorsness, 1984 Olympic Gold Medallist, will speak on motivation and personal achievements in athletics at 4:30 p.m. on Sunday, January 20, in Albright Auditorium. Thorsness, a five-time U.S. National Rowing Champion and two-time Olympian was inducted into the United States Rowing Hall of Fame in 1984. After graduating from the University of Wisconsin, Thorsness was a member of the U.S. National Rowing Team from 1982-1988. Born and raised in Anchorage, Alaska, Thorsness practiced law in California from 1989-2001. She is currently pursuing a master's degree in public administration at Syracuse University.
