The Partnership for Global Education will present “Terri Hilton: Captured Images Queensland, Australia” at noon on Tuesday, April 30, in the Sanford Room of the Warren Hunting Smith Library.
William Smith Senior Terri Hilton studied through the Partnership for Global Education program in Queensland, Australia last fall. In addition to scientific fieldwork, Hilton undertook an independent photo project documenting natural forms. Her photographic quest took her to the far corners of Australia and New Zealand and the resulting images are a stunning impression of the continent's natural areas, from the Great Barrier Reef to the outback. Her pictures also provide a glimpse into the students' powerful encounter with Australia.
Hilton will show some of her images and speak about her experiences as researcher and photographer in “Oz”. Her work was funded by a Student International Initiative Fund (SIIF) grant, a PGE program designed to enable students abroad to undertake projects that enrich their academic experiences.
Pizza and refreshments will follow at 12:30 p.m.
