Ancient Werewolves and Shapeshifters

The Department of Classics' annual Halloween lecture series presents “Ghosts in Togas III: Ancient Werewolves and Shapeshifters.” Folklore specialist Debbie Felton will discuss ancient werewolves and shapeshifters at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 24, in Gulick 100. The general public is warmly invited.

Debbie Felton, assistant professor of classics at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, will trace the ancient origin of werewolves and other monsters and the continuing appeal of such scary business in the modern world. Felton is the author of “Haunted Greece and Rome.”
