The annual road race to eradicate breast cancer will be held on Saturday, April 12, at Boswell Field, on the Hobart and William Smith Colleges campus.
March 25, 2003 GENEVA, N.Y.— The William Smith Athletics Association will aid in the fight against breast cancer through its sponsorship of the sixth annual Great Heron 5K Road Race. The race will be held on Saturday, April 12, starting with a 7 a.m. check-in at Boswell Field on the Hobart and William Smith Colleges campus. The race is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m.
Free T-shirts will be given to the first 300 registered runners. The race categories are age 17 and under, 18-22 (HWS students), 18-22 (non-HWS students), 23-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-69, and 70 and over. Awards will be presented for overall and age group winners (female and male). Proceeds will go to a local breast cancer organization.
Parking is available at Bristol Field House and St. Clair Street lots.
HWS students may run for free. The cost of entry for non-student runners is $12 before April 7, and $15 after April 7.
