Hobart and William Smith Colleges boost development staff with experienced fund raiser
May 14, 2003 Geneva, N.Y. – Michael J. Catillaz, vice president for institutional advancement at Hobart and William Smith Colleges, has announced that Keith “KC” Cassell will join his staff as a major gifts officer. Cassell will assume his new position on June 16, 2003.
Cassell, a 1982 graduate of Hobart College, returns to his alma mater after serving as director of admissions and financial aid at the Alexander Dawson School in Colorado for the past eight years. Prior to his move to Colorado, he held the same post at Governor Dummer Academy in Massachusetts and prior to this position directed the annual giving fund and assisted the admissions effort at the Kent School in Connecticut.
“It’s a great feeling to be returning to a community that holds such a warm spot in my heart,” said Cassell. “My years at Hobart and William Smith were genuinely among the best years of my life and I’m very excited about the prospect of helping the Colleges in its advancement program.”
Cassell will cultivate, solicit and steward alumni and alumnae from the Colleges in giving activities through the management of a number of philanthropic relationships. He will attend alumni/ae club events around the country and assist the institutional advancement staff in special events and development projects.
Cassell is a native of Boston, Massachusetts. The Cassell family will make their new home in Geneva.
