Colleges Mourn Loss

Linda Holtby, a member of the HWS housekeeping staff since 1999, died May 15, 2003. Calling hours were held on Saturday, May 17, at Palmisano Funeral Home, 28 Genesee St., Geneva. The funeral was at 10 a.m. Monday, May 19, at the funeral home. In her memory, the Colleges lowered flags to half-staff

Geneva—Linda J. Holtby, 52, of 11 N. Genesee St., died Thursday (May 15, 2003) unexpectedly at home.

Friends may call Saturday (May 17) from 2 to 6 p.m. at the Palmisano Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Monday (May 19) at 10 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Fairville Cemetery in Fairville.

Linda was born April 8, 1951, and was the daughter of the late Raymond and Bernice Morgan Youells. She was employed in the housekeeping department of Hobart and William Smith Colleges. She was an avid bingo player and enjoyed her family and friends.

She is survived by her son, T.J. Desassure of Victor; her daughters, Tammy and Kristy Holtby, both of Geneva; her brothers, Arthur Walsh of Canandaigua, Erick (Penny) Youells of Red Creek, Ronald (Sue) Youells of Wolcott and Charles (Betty) Youells of North Rose; her sisters, Brenda (Peter) Drake of Watertown, JimmieLou of Florida, Belita (Wayne) Homan and Melissa (Rick) French, both of Wolcott; six grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
