The Independent Service Operators who control the power distribution grids have instructed the regional power companies (i.e. RG&E, NiMo, etc.) to shut down portions of their distribution grids. This is ongoing in our region at the present time.
Information known at this time:
—No advanced notice is provided to the power companies so there will be no advanced notice to their customers.
—Shut downs can be from 30 minutes to 2 hours in duration
—There is no time frame when we can expect to be out of this situation
—Any portion of the power company's grid can be affected.
