The Alumni Association of Hobart College and the Alumnae Association of William Smith College cordially invite the campus community to The Distinguished Faculty Awards for 2003 honoring Marvin Bram, professor emeritus of history, and the late Richard Heaton, professor emeritus of religious studies. The award ceremony will be broadcast live on WEOS 89.7/90/3 FM, and at www.weos.org.
A schedule of events for the day, Friday, Oct. 17, is below.
3:30 p.m.: Religious Studies Open House and Reception, second floor of Demarest
4:30 p.m.: Lecture by Marvin Bram – The Geneva Room
“The West: Origins, Ironies and Prospects” Bram invites all who have their flute-o-phone to bring it.
5:45 p.m.: Reception – Comstock Living Room
6:30 p.m.: Dinner and Awards Ceremony – Comstock Dining Room
8:45 p.m.: Dessert Reception – The President’s House
Dinner is $30 per person. RSVP by Oct. 10 to Mary Lou Chilbert, ext. 3700.
The DFA Committee is also assembling a book of acknowledgements from former students, faculty, friends and family to be offered to Professor Bram and to the family of Professor Heaton at the DFA ceremonies.
