The Geneva Human Rights Commission in partnership with the Human Rights and Genocide Forum of Hobart and William Smith Colleges invite the campus community to an evening of music and theatrical performances for Human Rights Day at 7 p.m on Wednesday, Dec. 10, at the Geneva Middle School Auditorium.
Come and meet historic civil and human rights figures such as Martin Luther King, Cesar Chavez, Harvey Milk, Eleanor Roosevelt, Sojourner Truth and others as they are brought back to life by members of the Geneva Theater Guild.
Come and enjoy Geneva's Unity Kids Singers (ages 8-12) who will perform inspiring songs celebrating diversity and unity—songs they wrote themselves with acclaimed artist/performer Nancy Bryan.
Come and view a multimedia presentation focusing on the timeline of the U.S. Civil Rights Movement set to the words of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Come and listen to Dilcia González '06 perform a guitar solo of Latin America's Nueva canción (New Song).
This uplifting and educational community event is for audiences of all ages. Join in this evening of joy, song, and theater in celebration of International Human Rights Day at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 10, at the Geneva Middle School Auditorium.
Refreshments and coffee will be provided after the event, which is free and open to the public.
