Professors Richard Salter and Michael Dobkowski, Chaplain Lesley Adams, and Hillel Program Professional Lorinda Weinstock will host a panel discussion on the issues raised by the controversial film “The Passion of the Christ” at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, March 9, in the Geneva Room. Everyone is welcome, whether they have seen the movie or not.
In an article for the Witness Magazine, The Rev. Mark E. Stranger wrote, “I would not recommend the film to a devout Christian, skeptical Jew, or avid Hollywood buff. My fairly traditional Catholic 76-year-old mother, who accompanied me, found it “plodding” and the violence of the portrayal of the torturing of the captured Jesus turned her stomach.”
