Brass and percussion ensemble takes to the Smith stage in April
(March 18, 2004) GENEVA, N.Y.–Expect a fiery performance from Burning River Brass on Saturday, April 3, at the Smith Opera House, 82 Seneca St., Geneva. The performance begins at 8:15 p.m., with a pre-concert program at 7:15 p.m.
Burning River Brass has performed extensively throughout the United States. The expanded instrumentation of this 12-person group provides a rich wall of sound as they tackle works written for brass, as well as fresh arrangements of classic literature. In addition to concert halls, the ensemble can be heard on movie soundtracks and commercial recordings. They have two CDs on the Dorian label, with another in the works.
Because of Hobart and William Smith Colleges' continuing subscription to Geneva Concerts, Inc., students from the Colleges who wish to attend the concert may do so for free with ID. Adult tickets are $20, and non-HWS students are admitted for $10, with ID.
This concert is made possible by public funds from the New York State Council on the Arts.
