An exhibit of the lithographs of George Bellows from the collections of Hobart and William Smith Colleges will open in the Warren Hunting Smith Library and run for two weeks. The exhibit will open with a lecture by Marjorie Searl, chief curator of the Memorial Art Gallery at the University of Rochester and Ron Netsky, chairman of the art department at Nazareth College, who will speak on Bellows and his lithographs.
The exhibit opens at 7:45 p.m. on Wednesday, April 14, with the lecture to follow at 8:30 p.m. in the Sanford Room. The lithographs will be on display in the library lobby.
Netsky and Searl are co-curators of “Leaving for the Country: George Bellows at Woodstock,” a traveling exhibition which opened last spring at the Memorial Art Gallery, traveled to the Terra Museum of American Art in Chicago, and is currently at the Georgia Museum of Art.
