The annual road race will be held Saturday, April 17, on the Hobart and William Smith Colleges campus.
(April 8, 2004) GENEVA, N.Y.– The William Smith Athletics Association aids in the fight against breast cancer through sponsorship of the seventh annual Great Heron 5K Road Race. The event, on Saturday, April 17, starts with a 7:30 a.m. check-in at Boswell Field on the HWS campus. The race is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. Parking is available at Bristol Field House and St. Clair Street lots.
Free T-shirts will be given to the first 300 registered runners, and awards will be presented to men's and women's race winners in each of the 12 age categories.
HWS students run for free, courtesy of the Hobart Student Government and the William Smith Congress. The cost of entry for all other pre-registered runners is $12 until April 12, and $15 after that. Proceeds go to a local breast cancer organization.
