At the fall 2002 Board of Trustees Friday evening dinner, several Board members who sponsor scholarships had an opportunity to dine with their scholarship recipients. There were 18 Hobart and William Smith students in attendance who have received assistance from 12 scholarship funds established by current Trustees.
Donors and scholars discussed the Hobart and William Smith of yesterday and today, plans for post-graduation, and more.
According to Board Vice-Chair Maureen Collins Zupan '72, the group was, “here to celebrate the success of some of our most talented students and to say thank you to those who have made a Hobart and William Smith education possible for these young men and women.”
There are currently 252 donor established endowed scholarship funds at the Colleges that are providing approximately $2 million dollars worth of income to offset the financial aid budget this year. The income from these scholarship funds allows bright and deserving students to realize academic achievement and personal success.
