Learn fun and creative ways to stay in shape
GENEVA, N.Y.—The Hobart Druid Society presents “Fit for Life,” a fitness fair for Geneva-area youth, ages 8-12, and their families to learn more about childhood obesity and healthy fitness and lifestyle alternatives. The free program is being held from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, April 24, at the Geneva Recreation Center.
The fair will include stations operated by HWS student athletes and staff who will discuss and present examples of fun and creative ways to keep in shape. Once participants have visited each station at which there’s an activity, they will receive a free t-shirt.
“There are more than 11 million overweight children in America today,” says Mikey Roussell, member of the Hobart Druid Society. “Fit for life is a great opportunity for Hobart and William Smith Colleges and the Geneva Community to come together and get the youth of Geneva excited and informed about nutrition and exercise.”
The Hobart Druid Society brings together a group of senior leaders to further the ideals of the Colleges by promoting character, loyalty, and leadership. The graduating senior Druids choose members from the junior class after receiving nominations from the Colleges’ community.
