The date and time of the Hobart at Cornell NCAA Division I Lacrosse Tournament game has been changed to accommodate Hobart’s commencement exercises. The Statesmen and Big Red will faceoff on Schoellkopf Field at 2 p.m., on May 15. The first round game will be broadcast live on WEOS-FM (89.7/90.3 in Geneva, 88.1 in Ithaca). For fans outside of the WEOS listening area, visit Hobart's live stats Web site. The Web page will feature live statistics from the game updated every 20 seconds and will also have a link to WEOS's online audio feed. Both the live audio from WEOS and the live statistics are free services provided by Hobart and William Smith Colleges.
The game was originally scheduled for May 16 by the NCAA, but conflicted with Hobart’s 179th Commencement. By moving the game up one day, the Statesmen’s four seniors—defensive midfielder Jamie Giles (Salisbury/Ashburn, Ontario), midfielder Brian Joy (West Genesee/Camillus, N.Y.), defensive midfielder Matt Kanellis (Cortland/Cortland, N.Y.), and attackman Mark Williamson (Corning East/Corning, N.Y.)—will be able to receive their diplomas with the rest of their class on May 16.
Tickets for Saturday’s game can be purchased in advance by calling the Cornell ticket office at (607) 254-2327. Ticket prices are $7 for adults, $5 for senior citizens, and $2 for children and Hobart and William Smith students with proper ID.
