Tenzin Featured in Vermont Newspaper

Venerable Tenzin Yignyen, an instructor of Asian languages and cultures at Hobart and William Smith Colleges since 1998 and a high-ranking monk within the Dalai Lama’s personal monastery, was featured in an article that appeared in the Brattleboro Reformer in Vermont Wednesday, May 26, 2004.

The story “Monks create sand mandala in meditation room in Putney” discusses a sand mandala that Tenzin is creating for Putney School students.

At HWS, Tenzin creates sand mandalas each semester with students. In addition to creating the mandala, he is an instructor in meditation, Tibetan Buddhism and art, as well as Asian studies.
