Vehicles packed with the necessities of life rolled onto campus Friday, Aug. 27, signaling the start of the new academic year and the arrival of the Classes of 2008. Classes began Monday, Aug. 30, at Hobart and William Smith and at other area colleges.
“We've been literally working all summer for this day. We have an impressive new group of members of faculty and staff,” said President Mark Gearan in the Aug. 30 Finger Lakes Times article “New school year begins at HWS”. “The quality of students continues to grow as we become more selective. We're building a good momentum.”
The Aug. 31 Democrat and Chronicle also featured the start of classes at colleges in the area.
