Fisher Speaker Featured in Genesee Valley Newspaper

Starhawk is a respected voices in modern Goddess religion and earth-based spirituality, as well as a global justice activist and organizer. She travels internationally teaching magic, the tools of ritual, and the skills of activism. Her talk, “Earth Spirit, Earth Action,” will take place at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 17, in the Geneva Room, hosted by the Fisher Center for the Study of Women and Men. Her upcoming visit was featured in the Oct. issue of The Empty Closet (Rochester, N.Y.).

A workshop with Starhawk, “The Earth Path,” will take place on Wednesday, Nov. 17, 2-4:30 p.m., at The Fisher Center, 212 Demarest Hall. In this workshop, Starhawk will show how the place of transformation and change is in shifting our thinking from a focus on isolated objects to relationship. She will guide participants through a process of learning to use the tools of observation, awareness, and magic, “the art of changing consciousness at will,” to create myths and rituals to bring us into harmony with the full community, human and beyond human.
