“Teammates” has Begun

A walking escort program labeled “Teammates” kicked off on Wednesday, Nov. 3. In coordination with Campus Safety, this student-led initiative provides fellow students a walking escort program from the hours of 8 p.m. to 1 a.m. Sunday – Thursday nights.

There are three pairs of walkers scheduled each night. The program covers from South Main street campus housing, to the Hill and Emerson. It includes JPR and student housing on Pulteney and St. Clair. Teammates are identifiable wearing reflective vests.

The on-call van is used to cover those needing assistance from O’Dells, Houghton House, the Field House and off campus.

Teammate pairs are stationed in the first floor lounge of the Scandling Center. Those in need of a walking escort should call security at ext. 3656, or off-campus 781-3656.

The two student coordinators of the program are Emlie Barkow '05 and David Rogers '07 who will work tonight and Thursday night to assist with implementation of the program.

All students and student organizations (club, fraternity, theme house, advisory board, etc.) who are interested in joining should feel free to contact either Barkow or Rogers.
