Hobart-Fairfield lacrosse game moved

The inaugural meeting between the lacrosse teams from Hobart College and Fairfield University will have to wait a little bit longer.

Originally scheduled for 1 p.m. on April 2, on Hobart’s Boswell Field, the contest has been pushed back to a 4 p.m. start on the AstroTurf of McCooey Field. Recent rains have made the natural grass surface of the Boz too soft for safe play.

Admission is $5 for adult, $1 for children under the age of 12. Hobart and William Smith students, faculty, and staff are admitted free of charge with proper ID.

In lieu of the usual SAA tent prior to the game, Statesmen Athletic Association members are invited to attend “Barnburner 2005.” Catered by Club 86, the event begins at 2 p.m. in the Barn.

WEOS-FM (89.7/90.3 in Geneva, 88.1 in Ithaca) will broadcast the game live. Fans can also click on the “live coverage” link on the Hobart lacrosse schedule Web page for streaming audio and real-time game statistics.
