Former White House press secretary Dee Dee Myers is known for her political commentary and acuity as a Washington-watcher. She most recently offered her opinions on former Clinton National Security Adviser Samuel L. “Sandy” Berger's plea on charges that he removed and destroyed classified materials from the National Archives. The story “Sandy Berger: and John Bolton: Guilty as Charged!” ran in the Washington, D.C., Weekly Standard on April 11.
Myers is also the inspiration for the hit NBC drama “The West Wing” character C.J. Cregg, played by Allison Janney. According to a story in the April 4 Ventura (Calif.) County Star, Myers acts as a consultant for the script writers of the show as well.
A contributing editor with Vanity Fair magazine, she also owns and operates Dee Dee Myers & Associates, and has written articles for Time magazine, The New York Times, the Washington Post and the Los Angeles Times.
On Sunday, May 15, Myers will offer the Commencement address to the Hobart and William Smith Colleges Classes of 2005.
