Nearly two dozen area children graduated from HWS Kids College in Aug. 12 ceremonies in Albright Auditorium.
After the processional, the elementary school-age graduates, wearing handmade mortarboards with tassels, took their seats in the front row. HWS students Mark Conklin, a rising junior from Syracuse; and Sarah Mantell, a rising senior from Geneva, served as counselors during the week, and welcomed the graduates, parents and friends.
Those attending the inaugural session spent the week studying Nature 101, Study Abroad, In The News, Finger Lakes 101, and Careers.
Campers Patrick Connor, Jordan Sabatini and Frances Buckley then offered their reflections on the week. HWS President Mark Gearan, father of junior counselor Madeleine Gearan, presented diplomas to each of the graduates, and Conklin and Mantell presented commemorative T-shirts.
Mantell's closing remarks were followed by cookies and punch.
