‘Axis Mundi’ dance concert

Maureen Fleming will offer “Axis Mundi,” an dance evening-length performance, in concert at 8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 4, at the Winn-Seeley Dance Theatre.

The solo “explores through metaphorical images our search for transcendence whatever its form.” The solo was recently performed at the Palermo di Scena International Festival and in Spoleto, Italy's vast Teatro Nuovo.

Tickets are $7 general admission, $5 for HWS faculty and staff, and $3 for students. An advisory: parts of the performance include full nudity.

During her visit to the Colleges, Fleming will also offer a lecture on choreographic processes and influences, at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 2.

She has also scheduled two master classes: On dance composition from 3 to 5 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 1; and on dance technique, from 10:10 to 11:40 a.m. Nov. 2, both in the dance studio.
