Holly Morris-Kuentz has been named instructional and research technology leader in the office of Information Technology Services at Hobart and William Smith Colleges.
Her job is to manage and oversee the delivery of instructional technology services to all HWS faculty, students and staff. This includes smart classroom design, working closely with faculty and students to integrate technology into coursework, providing for the effective use of technology-based teaching tools, conducting technology evaluations, and developing technology training programs that meet the needs of students, faculty and staff.
She began working at the Colleges on Sept. 26.
“Holly’s background in education and in delivering instructional technology services in a campus environment will bring tremendous value to the many constituents we serve at the Colleges,” says Fred Damiano, chief information officer at HWS. The IT Services department recently restructured itself to better align its duties with its role in providing service to members of the campus community.
“I am very pleased that Holly is joining our technology team,” says Professor Eugen Baer, chair of the Faculty Committee on Information Technology. “Her presence will be a great improvement in our ability to meet the rapidly growing individual technological needs of faculty, students and staff.”
Morris-Kuentz has a strong track record of service delivery. She most recently worked at Alamo Heights High School in San Antonio, Texas, where she was Campus Technology Coordinator. In this role, she was responsible for providing instructional technology services to all faculty, students and staff. She also has experience as an English teacher and a technology applications teacher.
Holly lives in Watkins Glen with her husband, John, and their children, Timothy, Mikaela and Samuel.
