Concert tops $1,100 for Hurricane Katrina relief

Three HWS a cappella groups and a faculty-staff rock band entertained Saturday night in a packed Albright Auditorium, raising more than $1,100 for the American Red Cross's Hurricane Katrina disaster relief effort.

Student performers included The Hobartones, Perfect Third and 3 Miles Lost.

The faculty rock band included Kevin Dunn on bass guitar; Nick Ruth on drums, Bill Waller on horn, Jamie Ward on guitar and President Mark Gearan on keyboards; with Stan Weaver on vocals, backed by Catherine Gallouet, Cadence Whittier and Betty from Saga.

The concert was part of the HWS Responds relief effort to benefit the American Red Cross.
