'89 Hobart Alum Brings Dickens' A Christmas Carol to HWS Campus

North Shore Theatre Group Presents Greg Oliver Bodine ('89) in A Christmas Carol at Hobart and William Smith Colleges, Devember 1-2. This one-act, one hour, solo stage adaptation is enacte by Dickens himself, and is bades on a condensed version of the novel that he used while on the second of his historic reading tours of the United States in 1867!

By changes of voice, gesture and expression, playwright-performer, Greg Oliver Bodine peoples the stage with a throng of characters from Dickens' classic Christmas tale. As the inimitable Boz, he recreates, with improvised wit and charm, the familiar journey of Ebenezer Scrooge — an embittered, lonely, old miser, who (with the help of three spirts) finds a second chance to become a generous, caring human being. What sets this fresh, new adaptation apart is its ability to rely on the power of the test — chared simply, directly and intimately through great storytelling. One Actor. One hour!

“A most welcome Christmas present… a sincere, moving performance that set the mood for the coming holidays.”
