Ex-councilor could return; Appointment likely at Dec. 7 meeting.

Associate Hobart Dean, Rocco “Chip' Capraro has been nominated by the City of Geneva emocratic Committee to replace Councilor At-Large Gary Baxter, on the city council.

Dean Capraro is already a member of the city Planning Board and of the city's Downtown Overlay Committtee, which is looking at zoning and other issues in the Business Improvment District. He served about a decade ago with councilors John Greco and Paul Schroeder when the Ramada inn was developed along the lake front and Guardian Industries came to Geneva.

Welcomed by both Democratic and Republican committees, Capraro is described by board members as both highly experianced and thoughtful. If appointed, Capraro will serve for the next year before running for election in November 2006 and again in 2007 when the four-year term ends.
