Chaplain Lesley Adams was quoted in the article “Why Women Need Faith” from the premiere issue (Nov. 19) of “Women's Faith & Spirit” magazine, from the publishers of “Better Homes and Gardens” and “Ladies' Home Journal” magazines. The article profiled women who have turned to God and spirituality for peace and inspiration. “In the last 10 or 20 years, we've tried a number of ways that we thought would help our lives: self-help books, managing our time, organizing our closets,” said Adams. “But after trying all those things, we realized that they're good, but they don't make our lives right. We have to look for something bigger and deeper to feel that we're right with the universe.”
The article also highlighted Handwork/Soulwork, which Adams cohosts with Hillel program professional Lorinda Weinstock. The mindful repetition of stitching is similar to fingering a rosary or chanting a mantra, said Adams.
