Richard Kahn '61 of Basking Ridge, N.J., was recently named by Worth magazine as one of the nation's “Top 100 Attorneys.”
Kahn is a partner of trusts and estates at Pitney Hardin LLP of Morristown, N.J.; the list, featured in the magazine's December issue, is the culmination of a year of extensive research by the publication's editorial staff. The editors reviewed hundreds of nominations by readers, financial advisors, family office executives, accountants, consultants, academics and others who work with or closely monitor attorneys.
They were looking for professionals who combined exceptional legal expertise with outstanding interpersonal skills and great tact.
For more than 37 years, Kahn's practice has focused on the planning of larger estates, the drafting of complex wills and a wide variety of trust instruments, and the administration of trusts and estates. He joined Pitney Hardin as a partner in 1992.
Kahn is a member of the American, New Jersey and Morris County bar associations and the Estate Planning Council of Northern New Jersey. He is a fellow of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel, and an academician of the International Academy of Trust and Estate Law.
Kahn, who lives in Basking Ridge, received a Master of Laws degree in taxation from New York University, his bachelor of laws from Rutgers University and a bachelor's degree, magna cum laude, from Hobart College.
