Row for Humanity is Today

Row for Humanity is today, Wednesday, Jan. 25, in the Library Atrium, under the direction of Herons rowing coach Sandra Chu and Statesmen rowing coach Michael Alton.

The HWS Crew teams are also taking orders for the 2006 “Row for Humanity” Commemorative T-shirts, designed by Kathryn Louis '08 of New York City. Shirts and raffle tickets are available all day in the atrium.

Row for Humanity is a national fund-raiser that partners crew teams and their schools’ chapters of Habitat for Humanity. William Smith Crew has helped the event grow nationally. More than a dozen new college and university teams have joined the effort since 2003. Since 2000, Row for Humanity has donated more than $70,000 to Habitat Chapters nationwide.

For $15, participants will receive a commemorative T-shirt and five tickets to the raffle, which also includes a $100 gift certificate at Geneva-on-the-Lake. Raffle tickets may also be purchased separately for $1 each during the event.

T-shirts or T-shirt and raffle combos are available by e-mail from Sandra Chu, please indicate size. Checks should be made out to HWS Crew; they will also accept cash. You may pre-pay or pay when you receive your shirt.
