First-Years, Seniors urged to participate in a national survey

All first-year students and seniors were recently sent an e-mail, at their ‘hws.edu’ address, inviting them to complete the National Survey of Student Engagement.

This Web-based, national survey will ask specifically about students’ experiences at Hobart and William Smith Colleges. This invitation is being sent to all HWS first-year students and seniors, who are strongly urged to participate. The information you and other students provide will help our Colleges and others across the country to improve undergraduate education.

Completing this Web-based survey can be done on-line and takes only about 15 minutes. The information will help Hobart and William Smith Colleges in providing improved educational opportunities for current and future students.

Anyone who does not receive an e-mail message from NSSE by Feb. 20 is asked to call Associate Provost Jonathan Wolff at ext. 3818 or e-mail wolff@hws.edu, indicating your best e-mail address; he will arrange to have one sent to you.

Those who complete the survey will be entered into a drawing where prizes will include for an iPod Shuffle (one for first-years and one for seniors) and the choice of either $50 College Store gift certificates or 2006 Yearbooks. Prizes will be awarded in April, following completion of the survey.
