Chaput chosen for Yahoo! internship

Adam Chaput '07 of Framingham, Mass., has been selected to participate in a one-on-one mentorship with Daniel Rosensweig '83, the Chief Operating Officer of Yahoo! Inc.

This opportunity will take place this summer at the Yahoo! corporate headquarters in Sunnydale, Calif. This is the second year that Rosensweig has offered the position to an HWS student.

Last year, he individually mentored Jessica Larigan '05, who has since accepted a position with Yahoo! She helped develop a marketing campaign to increase awareness of the company’s Messenger product, an instant-message application, among college-age consumers.

Chaput is an active member of the HWS campus community. A double major in Public Policy and Asian Studies, he has participated in a study abroad program in Tokyo, Japan; is currently a member of Chimera honor society, and works as a student trustee. In addition, he has worked as an Orientation Coordinator, Tour Guide and is president of Chi Phi fraternity.

HWS and Yahoo! arranged the initial mentorship as part of the Company’s efforts to establish relationships with colleges that seem to attract large numbers of inquisitive and creative people.

In addition, Katie Goodrich '08 of Syracuse has been accepted into another internship program at Yahoo! She has been a dean's list student, a member of the Herons crew team and secretary of the William Smith Congress.
